After Treviglio I was lucky to go to Asolo, a beautiful hilltop village in Treviso. Another amazing camp with a wonderful host family and fantastic director ended by my students Irish dancing for me! A medieval festival took place in Asolo with a parade of old costumes and a serious competition where groups of five men raced with blood sweat and tears up the hill pulling an old chariot with a woman on it behind them. Add to this a trip to Venice with a visit to the most amazing bookshop, a tour to almost every nearby village, and a stop at the beach for some relaxation it’s somewhere in my list of favourite camps ever!

I’m currently in the mountains in Val dAosta, where they speak an interesting dialect of Italian mixed with French. I’m happy to be back in the mountains again and Sunday was already spent relaxing in a luxurious camping ground with an amazing view. We have the opportunity to go the the swimming pool with the kids, and messy games are scheduled for tomorrow – it’s going to be an interesting week!
